An update

Right, I am back and I almost forget my username and password for this account but lucky I got it after a few tries and I know that means I have not been updating as often as I should but then again this is all about mood, at least for me.

The assignments are over and so were the exams meaning currently I am on holiday which I don't know for how long but I think it should be at least a month. So what have I been doing at home? Let's see, eat play eat read eat sleep and these 6 magical words sums up what I have been doing almost everyday.

I stress the word almost because the days that I have not been eating and sleeping are the days that I have been working. But work comes only once a week at most twice so I am quite free most of the time. For those who don't think I read. I have to tell you guys I do read I read fantasy, history fiction, the newspaper and other interesting articles that I can find and if you still want to ask why my spelling still sucks? That you have to ask god or whatever mighty higher intelligence that you believe in

I really have to do something about this lifestyle it is not healthy maybe I should go gym more often after all NS is coming and I should make sure that I keep myself fit enough so as not to enter the army 3 months early.

I think writing helps me collect my thoughts because right after I type "keep myself fit enough" I suddenly feel that I should go for the badminton game that Bin asked me to maybe I should so I think I have to stop here cause we are meeting at 1pm and it's 12.33pm now.

As for the next update I can't promise anything we will have to see how the mood goes ;-)

Things can't get any better

It’s getting busier and busier at the care center there is a huge increase in the number of phones upgraded daily, from a meager of six phones a day to thirty over phones.

It’s like a five times increase in workload and the customers love to come in waves, I can be very busy from noon to two and then five to seven but in between I may not even have one customer and if one or two phones’ failed during software update for more then two times then most likely the other phones in queue will be push back by half an hour and I have to think of means and ways to explain to them why they have to come back later.

But I believe I can handle all the above situation well enough after all practice makes perfect ;-) but the worst thing I hate is when customers complain about stuff that is their fault in the first place.

For example one dude who came to service his phone but forget his warrant card so we say we can check his warrant for him but we start counting from the phone’s manufacturing date so if your model is more then a year old most likely the warrant is over and you will have to pay $26.25 (forgotten his model) and we checked and it is not covered in the warrant so he have to pay, useless he bring his warrant card which started from the date of purchase.

And he started to bitch about what he bought his phone 2 months ago and how low-tech is Nokia that we can’t trace the purchase date of our customers and shit like now the world is moving towards technology and all the bullshit.

I explain to him that to be able to trace the purchasing dates of customers we need the help of the retailers and also the money to install and set up the system in all shops selling the phones and a lot of shops are selling our phones and don’t forget there are also second hand phones how are we going to keep track of all those and who is going to pay and it is not something that you say you want it and we will have it. It takes time to build up and a lot of different parties to make it work.

But somehow he can’t get this logic into that thick skull of his and started to say our service sucks, and we should move on to a wireless age and don’t relay on paper for everything and continue on saying about cars and computers can be purchased online and all the no-link shit.

I really feel like shouting in his face that you are a Singaporean and our government have your data in their database then why the fucking hell would they issue you IC for? Why don’t you complain this to the SIR (Singapore Immigration & Registration) next time your son makes his IC? And you want wireless right don’t want to use paper right? Then why not do all your shopping online, there is no need to use paper notes and better still they send everything to your house, why carry so many bags?

And this is just tip of the iceberg, I even heard people complaining about phones being a virus magnet when it is their fault that they accept a virus from someone they don’t know through Bluetooth.

Customer: Your Nokia phone very lousy keep catching virus, my friend Motorola and Sony Ericsson phone don’t have this problem

Me: -_- Sir, this is because you on your Bluetooth and you walk within range of an infected phone so it sent the virus packet to you and you accepted it.

Customer: But my friend Motorola don’t have this problem

Me: =_= maybe he didn’t on his Bluetooth 24/7

Customer: I don’t think so because he use a Bluetooth head set like me

Me: *thinking* Maybe that friend of yours is clever enough to understand the simple logic of not accepting things from stranger BUT YOU DON”T!!!!

Me: Then maybe you can check the identity of the sender and if it is anonymous don’t accept.

Customer: Okay, thanks

* Few days later

Customer: Hi, remember me? My phone caught virus again……

*bang head on table multiple times

So as you can see my job is full of laughter, enjoying every single moment ;-)

Found a Job

I know I have not being updating for ages so here goes

Currently working at Nokia service center under a company call AxisPlus. The job is easy and relaxing, my main objective is to do express software upgrade for Singtel users that owns a nokia N6680.

Today is my third day and I have only encounter a Singtel user that wishes to upgrade his software for N6680 so for the pass two days have been slacking away, helping out at the information counter assigning queue number.

Maybe my manager thinks that I am too free because today he assign me a counter and ask me to do express service for people who wish to upgrade their phone’s software. Easy job and is more flexible then information counter because I can go toilet, move around and help out whenever I like for information counter I have to keep sitting there.

The surprising thing is Wen Bin, Ming En & Jeremy came down to causeway point to have lunch with me today. I though they were joking at first till Wen Bin called me saying that he is outside the service center. I am really happy guys, you are the best ;)

After lunch received Cheng Kin message that he and Jacqueline maybe visiting me but I didn’t see them only receive another message from Cheng Kin later on saying it is the first time he see me in white. Dude you should have called me and maybe we can go for coffee or something.

Anyway have to thanks Jacqueline for her help if not for her I can never find such a fun and easy job.

A Disaster

Today the last paper MDAD had ended and all I can say is good game I really screw this paper up and I think I am going to fail it so my only hope is that the MST and assignment can help pull me up.

I must first state that i am not bitching that it is a hard paper or anything

The mcq is still okay know the answer for 6 out of 10 questions the real problem start with section B

First question I am cool can do it, mostly about definitions then move on to question 2 asking me to state the method to consume web service and Great! head go blank not sure which to choose proxy client or direct client so anyhow smack and in the end discovered that i smack the wrong answer so good game to this.

Then come the third question, really feel like shooting myself in the head just asking for a namespace thing and its 10 marks and I didn’t learn how to write namespace so bye bye 10 marks

Follow by question 4 a whole chunk of codes after reading discover only need to fill in 4 blanks to complete the code but not really sure if what I write is right.

Then question 5 is like BUOM…lol…part A is okay no problem with it but part B don’t seem to remember anything about the web service architecture that they want us to propose all I remember is a diagram so only draw that and crap along with some answers

As for part C again whole lists of codes that ask for what variable thing, didn’t study the last two chapters so good game to this question too lost 7 marks.

As you can see all hope is lose for this paper all I can do is hope and wish for the best and please don’t remind me of MDAD.

Too Long

Didn’t been updating much these day because of too much dota and the end of semester exam so please bear with me on this.

The ecommerce paper yesterday is the first paper that people leave early which is totally different from the past two papers. I think you guys can guess the difficultly of it, so there is no need for me to go into details.

This Friday will be the last paper MDAD, after which is the holidays and I am looking for a job so if anyone has one you can give me a call.

Anyway promised Edward a dota match last night but when we started playing you are already offline so if there is any early matches will surely inform you ;-)

Tried the troll warlord, quite a good hero in late game but for the start and mid game I can’t get much kill and main aim is to try to farm enough gold to buy items after that farming gets easier and hero killing follows. Feel that troll warlord is a much easier compare to N’aix maybe because he is a range hero while N’axi’s a melee.

But my dota skill still suck must practice some more before I can consider myself an average player, still a long way to go.

A busy day

Today is the second paper BUOM, the paper is not difficult but I am not really prepared for it so think it should be a D for this paper. After the exam went to some lab in school for Swat, and Kang Heong is really pro don’t know what got into him today keep owning us and get 20 over kills a game when most of us only get around 10.

After Swat went swimming at delta and that bugger Denon last minute tell us that he cannot go, want to sleep so only Styke and me went and the day was fairly good with sun so it’s not my fault when it rain it’s Denon cause he didn’t come along and nothing bad happen.

After swimming when to the near by market for some drinks and Styke have his dinner. After that meet Wen Bin, Jeremy and Li Song for dinner at Mac near Li Song’s sister primary school, somewhere in Jurong East and we saw Du De Wei the guy who sing Tuo Dian eating with a Hong Yi Xin at first we through is someone who look like him but when we are leaving we take a quick look and yup confirm is them.

First Paper

Today is the start of the semester one exam and the first paper is ISNS. It start at 6.00pm and ended at 8.10pm, I was surprised that so many people sit through the whole 2 hours, I was expecting at least ¾ of the people leaving in the last 15mins but seem that I was wrong.

The paper was not very difficult, I feel that it’s okay but don’t think I can do as well as the MST period because I was not really prepared and have no time to recap everything again so my memory on most of the chapters were blur. When answering the questions it’s like I know the answer but when I started to write I don’t the answer so really suck.

Next paper is BUOM and it is on Friday meaning I have 3 days to study but kind of lazy and I lost the BUOM textbook and popular didn’t have them anymore so I have to borrow from Denon and try to zap the book to study. The BOUM is a huge topic with ton of stuff to study so by just looking at the book all the mood to study is gone.

PS: Thanks Dude! For the book will try to return it to you by tomorrow if I can

An update

Watched The Cave yesterday with Wen Bin & Ming En that Jeremy last min say he doesn’t want to go because he wants to go home and sleep -_- The movie was not as good as I expect, (spoiler) a story about a group of cliff divers or explorers went to a newly discovered underground cave which is freaking huge and they encounter some strange creatures which are humans who were trapped in the cave some 30 years ago and with the help of some parasites have evolved over time to become ugly horned creatures who can fly, breathe underwater and see in complete darkness. They attacked them and kill them one by one.

These may sound like a making of a good movie but after that the things just go down stream. But then again there may be people who like it so you guys should watch the movie and not let my review affect you ;)

Anyway there won’t be any lesson tomorrow so not going to school but I will be going gym plus swimming with the gang and it won’t be raining tomorrow and the sun will be big and hot so you can burn your skin :) in the process of tanning.

Don't believe it

Brown, the head of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) was fired from his pervious job of organizing horse shows for alleged supervision failures.

I can’t really believe that a man who is incompetent to arrange horse shows would be given the most important disaster-response agency in the United States that really explain why the rescue & relief efforts were delayed and thousands were left to suffer and die.

Uncertain

The result is out and I get a D for WEBA, I passed but feel kind of sad because I was thinking of getting a C but then a D, bottom line is at least I pass. Now I can only depend on the assignment to help me but don’t really put much hope on it because Darran told me he lose 30 marks because he didn’t do some validations and those are the ones that I missed so kind of have no confidence on my WEBA’s future but think I should be able to pass if that guy can be a bit merciful.
